The Lilac Wine Tam has a classic tam construction coupled with an asymmetrical brocade pattern that can work with any two colours of yarn, provided they have a strong value contrast.

Only one ball of each colour is needed! The tam in the photo used 153 Wild Violet for the pattern and  599 Zodiac for the background (so the pattern is light on a dark background)--the colours evoked a phrase from a Mimi & Richard Fari¤a song from the 1960s.
